That makes a lot of sense. The manual for the for 540 and 360 FGZ II flash units has a 2013 copyright date on it. It gives its compatibility as K5, K5-II, k30, K50, K500, K-r and 645D. The K3 hadn't been launched at that point. I don't think there was anything new about the flash support in the K5 over the K7. I don't think the interface between flash and camera hasn't changed for at least 10 years.

That was also my understanding, maybe the Chinese translation into English is at work here. The manual stated: "compatible with Pentax K3II, KP etc..." should have stated that they tested with these camera's.
