I cannot take photos using the LCD. It just doesn't work for me. Putting my eye to the VF is like shutting the world out, and I can concentrate better on the photo. Not to mention that I can hardly see the LCD in daylight + I'm farsighted. I just feel if my eye is not on the VF, I'm doing it wrong. Don't know if that makes sense.

It may depend on our background in photography. I've been shooting SLRs since the 1960s so using the viewfinder is just more natural for me. Also, I like to brace the camera against my head to steady it. I can use the LCD, but just have a harder time keeping the camera steady.

I started in 2007 with a Kodak Easy Share z710 I think it was. I forgot but yes your head does help steading the camera. Also in wildlife shooting look through the VF helps me with tracking.

It definitely helps to steady the camera..  I almost always use the VF with long lenses, as holding the camera high or low will make little difference with them and camera shake is a bigger problem than it is with short and normal lenses.  With short and normal lenses I switch to the screen often to get a high or low angle point of view.  If I want an eye level point of view, there is no reason to use the screen.

That's my opinion, and it's worth what you paid for it.
