Northern wheatears and EM1 mkii 300mm AF question

Came across a pair of northern wheatears this afternoon. It seems that the chicks have hatched as the parents were busy with food deliveries.

The light was pretty harsh and seemed to wreak some havoc on the feather detail.

Another thing that I noticed was that when shooting bursts, there was an absolutely ridiculous amount shots that were slightly or totally out of focus. There was really nothing in focus in many of the shots. I'm only really seeing this type of behavior when there is a strong light towards the subject. Anyone else seeing experiencing something similar?

Food delivery arriving

Mrs with a couple of bugs

Another delivery from the missus

Doing his share as well
