Hi guys and girls,

I am after suggestions for a general purpose lens for my parent's EOS M camera for my upcoming trip to Japan. The only lens available to me is an EF 50mm 1:1.8 STM which isn't meeting my needs. My knowledge of cameras and photography in general is fairly poor but I am keen to learn - What should I be looking for? Do I go for an EF-M lens or another type of Canon lens? Any explanations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I vote for the 11-22mm for cityscapes and narrow alleyways. Then the sigma 30mm f1.4 for a general purpose lens with a fast aperture without breaking the bank.
