Some BIF with RX10iv
5

Borrowed my wife's RX10iv to see how well the autofocus worked. Our local ospreys were not very cooperative, but there were a few great egrets and gulls in the distance. Very flat light.

For the session, I used AFC, wide autofocus, metering a mix of multi and spot with focus point link plus some +EC. Mix of P and S modes, with Auto ISO 800 with shutter speed biased to Faster.

All of the images I selected for posting below turned out to be taken in S mode at 1/2000 sec, with spot (focus point linked) metering.   Not certain why I preferred them - but suspect the faster forced shutter speed made the difference.

All are 2-4mpx sensor crops, from raw via DXO PL4 and Topaz Sharpen. Posted at 100%

Overall I'm quite pleased with the camera's response.

and one red-bellied woodpecker, (Exp Flexible Spot AF)
