Oregon forest fire damage
2

A short drive in the woods, to see how much damage the fires did last summer. The mountain (some would call hill) is twelve miles from home. My father-in-law was on standby to leave at any moment. Almost all of the trees in this shot were planted in my lifetime. My college career in forestry ended when I realized I couldn't tell a live tree from a dead one! Being color deficient (blind) doesn't help in photography either.

Ugly overcast sky.

There used to be a historic wooden fire look out tower on top of the mtn.

Took a quick long distance shot of these extremely wild young Blacktail bucks. No time for fancy setup. As soon as you stop your vehicle they're gone.

My favorite place on earth was burned to a crisp. Probably won't recover in my lifetime.
