a7rIII-Smallrig wood grip with video start-stop button

I was wandering if there is any way to change the video start-stop Smallrig button over to a shutter release for stills?  It's on a smallrig cage for Sony a7rIII. The camera shutter button is very hard to access with the grip so close.  I know there is a corded shutter release available, so there must be some wiring difference in the two cables since the same female plug-in is used in the camera.  I emailed Smallrig, with this question, and got no response. The Right-hand grip in this photo is the Smallrig with button, and left-hand grip, is one I made from black walnut:   Larry
