A Day at the Marsh

A baby Clapper Rail.

There were two babies but one was mostly in the reeds

Fiddler crab

Tri-colored Heron

Adult Cropped Clapper Rail Only otherwise SOOC

Snowy Egret

Painted Bunting did not turn out well. Looks smeared. Probably a setting was wrong.

Turned out not to be the best of days, though it should have been. Unfortunately the tide was coming in much faster than expected. Therefore, not the usual number of birds feeding and no alligators because their little island was under water and none were walking around. The eagles and Ospreys weren’t out either. A few photographers were there but thankfully no tourists. Here are a few of the best that I got. Again still need practice. Two problems arose:

1. Stopped focusing. Had to turn it off and back on. Then was better.
2. The exposure compensation would just change as I was focused on a bird. It would be just fine then suddenly blow out. Had to zoom in then back out again and it would be fine but then happened again. Any suggestions on what the problem might be?
Thanks for taking the time to look and for any comments.

“What day is it?” asked Pooh.
“It’s today,” squeaked Piglet.
“My favorite day,” said Pooh.
