M50 as a second camera for wedding
5

A little different thread to the norm but I would love to hear your views and suggestions.

I'm shooting a location wedding in London in a couple of months and like all weddings that I have shot I make sure I have 2 bodies.

As a "retired" semi-professional photographer I have disposed of most of my "full-frame" gear except for a Canon 5DIII, Canon 24-70 f/2.8L and Canon 50/1.4. This "kit" plus Canon 580EX takes care of ONE camera. My dilema/problem is Camera 2.

I currently own a Canon M50 and a number of lenses including the excellent Sigma 56/1.4 (perfect 85mm equivalent full-frame portrait lens) as well as 15-45, 22, 55-200 EF-M lenses. This could be one candidate as a second/backup camera but I'd be missing a low-light long lens and lack the security of a second memory card slot.

The other, more expensive option for a second camera is to hire a Canon R6 with a RF 70-200 f/2.8, or a 5DIV with EF 70-200 f/2.8, or just the EF 70-200f/2.8 for the M50.

Any thoughts or alternative suggestions?
