Another stacking question!
1

I apologise for another stacking software query but please bear with me!

I have recently become reinterested in focus stacking and as a result have been trialing Zerene and Helicon. To my inexperienced eye there is little difference between outputs from them although Zerene has been reported as giving marginally sharper results. Also widely reported, Helicon is said to be easier to use although, again, I found little difference but I was doing some simple stacking so didn't indulge in very sophisticated retouching.

As I understand it Zerene provides basic retouching tools with all their licenses but these are only available from Helicon with their Pro versions.

Helicon appears to be more expensive in order to obtain retouching tools although it is available as a yearly license.

My inclination is to go for Zerene based on cost but do wonder what it is that I am missing that makes others say Helicon is easier to use and would be grateful for any insights.
