I do not quite understand SnapBridge (which by the way works okay). But why both Bluetooth and WIFI?

When I pair the Z5 and Z50 to my iPhone, I'm asked to use Bluetooth, and when I'm using SnapBridge, I'm asked to switch to WIFI.

Why is that?

I think Bluetooth for in-the-background low energy use geo-tagging and clock-synching. WiFi for file transfer and camera control. (Uses more battery but used less often)

Yes, bluetooth is extra frugal with power when the camera is switched off or out of range.

The phone will only poll once in while if the camera has become active. Depending on the phone OS. I have android 11, and the poweruse of snapbridge is neglegible. You can check it per app (i.e. Snapbridge) in settings/battery usage.

Snapbridge switches to WiFi for massive data. But WiFi never goes to sleep. So Snapbridge turns it off, for camera and phone, when not needed.
