I've always been interested in compact cameras. It started with the Fuji F100, F200 EXR series and then Canon started to take over my interest with their s90 and s95, and small sensor G'series. I haven't had a compact since my S95. Maybe it was the smartphone era that made me loose interest. I've been mostly using my high end phone cameras last couple of years, which has served me well as a tool to document my life, kids and family vacations with. My more artistic photo-interest kinda got lost in the small children family life.
But now i got a nice deal on a G1X mk II. I started awhile ago looking for cameras like the Fuji X series and Ricoh GR, but was unsure that a fixed lens would satisfy me. I was also looking into Lumix LX100 and LX100 II and would probably also have been pleased by them.
Yesterday was my first few hours with the G1X. I was kinda happy with the low light performance in the "Smithy" shots, and i was impressed by he sharpness and colors and the close up capabilities on the "Volvo" shot. I didn't do much PP, but shot in RAW and converted to jpeg using DPP. Maybe they came out too sharpened by default, too much noise reduct, but was quite happy with how they look small print size. Bigger sized i would probably have had to use more PP.
So i'm really just posting because i think this camera need more praise! Was a joy to use and i'm sure this will get me started with some photography again.

You were using phones but your photography is like pros! You deserve such a camera.
