At f2 the focus needs to be perfect as the depth of field at that close range will be narrow.  Any movement while taking the photo could move his face out of focus.

1/2000 is more than enough for movement, you could drop to 1/1000 and say f4 to give greater dog.

The smaller sensor in your Olympus will make accurate focus less critical.

Also try continuous focus for moving subjects.
