Here's my method for generating wondrous photographic works of art every time I leave the house:

1. Walk around for a while until I find a something that looks nice.

2. Get camera out of bag.

3. Forget to close bag, thereby tipping remaining contents on the floor.

4. Set up tripod, being sure to hit the camera with it in the process.

5. Switch on camera and dial in appropriate settings.

6. Spend a minute figuring out why the exposure is so dark. Did I break the camera when I hit it with the tripod?

7. Remove lens cap.

8. Take photo.

9. Put camera away, being sure to drop lens cap in the mud before putting it back on the lens.

10. Put tripod away, trapping fingers in the process.

11. Go home and review photo. Notice half of someone's leg as they stepped into the frame.

12. Repeat.

I do #4 and #11 all the time.  Regarding #11, it's always my leg that's in the picture.

My state of confusion has turned into a circle of confusion.
