Just after some opinions or other options I might not have considered. Currently have the above camera plus 15-45 and 22 lens combo.
Looking at my photos from my last trip I kept 98 photos from the 15-45;
41 of those between 15-24, most at 15mm
11 of those at 28mm
12 of those at 35mm
34 of those at 45mm
If I want to upgrade my 15-45, what lenses should I look at? I'm probably only looking to travel with 2 or 3 lenses maximum, ideally 2.
With most of my photos at 15mm, it makes sense to get the 11-22mm as that would be a good upgrade and I can then go wider when required.
My thinking was then to pair that with either;
EF-M 32mm F1.4 - Looks great and would have covered off those at 28mm and 35mm
Sigma 56mm F1.4 - Looks great, to cover off those taken at 45mm.
EF 50mm F1.8 and adapter - Cheaper alternative to Sigma
EF 40mm F2.8 and adapter - Cheap and covers the 35mm and 45mm
I normally photograph landscapes/ocean/beach and city scenes, hence the 11-22mm, but unsure what to pair that with.
Am I missing anything? I think my preferred option is 11-22+32, but that is an expensive combination, hence looking for alternatives.
I would also suggest you keep shooting with your existing combo for a while and get a better feeling of it.
My copy of 15-45 is very good. I finally got the 11-22 since 17-40 was most of the time on my FF camera. And I had some money to spend.
My other lenses are sigma 56 and canon 22. These are the tiny gems that make the m6 for me. I am a 35/85 ff equivalence guy ))
I also have a bunch of ef lenses with the adapter but rarely use them.
Just my 2 cents.
