If your camera has a button cell that is replaceable then it is usually located with a section of the main battery compartment. If it doesn't have this then it probably relies on a super-capacitor to retain a tiny bit of power to enable short term memory storage. The memory retention varies but a super-capacitor can supply the memory for days or weeks.
