I come from 35mm film photography.

Film and film lenses could never produce the IQ of current digital kit.  The lens formulas are different.  It seemed like color and contrast were the priorities with film.

I did keep my film photography kit and still use my MD lenses on my M43 bodies with good results, but my Minolta 45 f2 can never compare to my Oly 45 f1.8.  Does not matter.  i shoot with legacy glass for the nostalgic feel...also for color and contrast.
