Re: A very underrated lens with tons of character

I had this Sony Zeiss 35mm F2.8 since 2013 and still love it till this day. Somehow, I just like the rendering and colours. It is extremely compact and featherweight at 120grams, with some dust and moisture resistance. Very discrete; great for casual, family or street photography.

Glad that there is someone else like me who likes it too!

Prices have dropped significantly over the years. I think at the current prices, the Sony Zeiss is better value than the 3 compact G primes which Sony recently introduced. If one is exploring compact primes from Sony, then I think this Sony Zeiss is worth considering.

However, Samyang, Sigma and Tamron have brighter and cheaper alternatives, which should be appreciated. I will be fair to say, if one is open to these options, I would also recommend them.

But because this Sony Zeiss was my first love, I decided to have it with me, for as long as I am with Sony FF.

Cheers!
