Am I the only one "put out" about no GPS in R5 or R6?

Re: Am I the only one "put out" about no GPS in R5 or R6?

In my experience it is more a problem of battery management and connection delay.
From the phone side (Android in my case) if you don't exclude the Canon app from any sort of battery management then the connection won't remain stable and won't reconnect reliably.
From the camera side, I have found that Eco mode on the R5 allows the connection to be established and operate but then subsequently prevents reconnection after sleep/standby from operating reliably.
Once these steps are addressed then the connect/reconnect is reliable for me but that leaves three issues, the impact on phone battery, the impact on camera battery and the time to reconnect. If I'm just wandering around locally or out for a couple of hours elsewhere then neither of the first two are an issue. If I'm travelling and spending hours taking photos away from a charger then battery life it is more of a problem. The third issue is annoying, the delay on (even a reliable) reconnect can mean that you miss the location data in a spontaneous shot.
The GP-E2/Solmeta GMAX-EOS options remove all the issues. They both last ages on a full charge (Solmeta) or battery (GP-E2) and there is no delay in the connection to be available to the camera.
