Something I wonder about with Gigapixel AI

Using RAW files with Gigapixel AI, the enlarged size is much sharper than the original I started with.  This tends to make me think that Gigapixel AI does the resizing first, and then does the demosaicing.

Demosaicing tends to reduce detail, and if it were to be done first, I don't think the results would be quite as sharp.

I have no actual knowledge of just how Topaz is actually going about this.

And if doing the resize first before doing the demosaicing, then doing anything first that does the demosaicing such as starting with Lightroom and using the intermediate file for Gigapixel AI should not be quite as sharp.

Consider this example in which the RAW file was first resized by 2x using Gigapixel AI.  The 1st image is the original and the 2nd is after resizing 2x.

Original after crop

Resized above crop with Gigapixel AI at 2x
