EOS R CR3 files too bright in Adobe Raw

I just got Photoshop CC and finally been able to open my EOS R CR3 files.

When I first open the folder (in Bridge) the thumbnails look OK (or a bit dark) but once they 'load' they brighten up big time. This seems to be the case in ACR as well, with a 'bright' image.

The histogram is close to the camera JPEG preview with clipping at both ends. There doesn't seem to be any extra Raw latitude that I normally would expect [but they seem to process ok].

I downloaded the latest DPP and the files look fine - good exposure with a bit of latitude at each end of the histogram. I reduce the Adobe exposure about half stop and it is pretty close to the Canon version.

I haven't looked into this much, just thought I would ask if there was an easy answer as to why Adobe raw images display brighter than I would expect (and confirmed with DPP).

Any Ideas?

Thanks,

Simon.
