Canon RP AF setting query

Hi there,

A very simple question puzzles me recently coming from DSLR to mirrorless.

Call me lazy not go through the manual and setup guide videos available on YouTube. I am sure for people know the answer it is 10sec setup away.

My Canon RP seems to struggle to af focus on subject when I set shutter speed to an underexposure value. In DSLR days, shutter speed won't affect af performance. Is there a setting somewhere to change this behaviour?

Let me give an example. I was shooting indoors with ceiling light. 0EV Metering result was around iso 200, f2.8, 1/10s. If I left exposure as was, camera focused very snappy and accurately. Photo came out correctly exposed. However I wanted to use an off camera flash as the main light source, so I kept the iso aperture value unchanged, changed shutter speed to 1/160s. Which puts ceiling light -4EV underexposed. To my surprise, camera could no longer focus on subject. If I fire shot anyway, photo came out correctly exposed by OCF.

Is it an exposure display simulation setting issue? How do you guys acquire focus using OCF?

Many thanks in advance.
