Embracing noise
3

In the past, I’ve always preferred (demanded?) that my images be as clean and sharp as possible. At least until I have the chance to creatively edit them in another direction if I choose.

I don’t understand what’s changed lately, maybe it was trying a different brand of camera for a while, but all of a sudden I don’t find noise as bothersome. Maybe even a little desired.

I’ve even been experimenting with ways to enhance the noise in camera, to the most pleasing effect.

And I’ve even begun to tolerate lack of corner sharpness a bit more. Kind of like a natural vignette effect that focuses attention toward the center.

Anyway, has anyone else experienced a mindset shift like this?
