Shutter Count on Used Cameras
1

While shutter count can be a general barometer for overall wear, I don't worry that much about shutter count when buying used gear. Here's why.

I bought my D7000 from Nikon in 2014, 7 years ago. My current shutter count is 3764. So I average 537 shutter actuations a year. Taking a wildly optimistic life expectancy of 10 years (My life expectancy, not the gear, I'm 72 BTW),
I should feel comfortable buying any Nikon camera rated at 150,000 actuations that has up to 144,000 actuations.
