Canon 5Dmk4 - ISO Continuously Variable
1

I am embarrassed to ask this, but in modern digital cameras such as the 5DMk4, is there any reason to not use ISO settings in between the old film standards? I started out a million years ago with film cameras, so the prehistoric ASA settings for me were 50/100/200/400 and I guess if you were going to push process, 800 and maybe 1600. I just recently realized that I only ever use 100/200/400/800/1600/3200 which I guess is from having standard ASA speeds ingrained in me, as if I wasn't allowed to use any ISO in between. I assume there is no reason not to shoot at 900 or 700 ISO if the shot called for it. In other words, the ISO is continuously variable and there is no requirement to stay in the old lanes? I guess some habits learned early die-hard later on.
