At best Macs represent 15% of shipped PCs. 85% of the world works fine with Olympus...

Most photo and video producers use mac, just so you know. Just check the mac userbase of lightroom, affinity and other processing softwares.

That was certainly so 25 years ago

In the first quarter 2021, Mac's represent 15.1% of all PC units sold in the USA. But worldwide, it's only 8%.

It is true that within certain specific and small user groups, such as medical imaging and graphic arts, Mac's traditionally still hold a high market share worldwide. But overall worldwide Mac market share is still only 8%, quite measly for a proprietary operating system: 75% of all PC's worldwide use Windows, 25% are all others including OSX and Linux etc.

PC dominates worldwide sales simply because of markets such as India, africa and most emerging nations. And they're certainly not olympus users either.

By this logic, you do classify the USA as an emerging nation too, since 84.9% of all PC units sold in the USA first quarter 2021 are not Mac's

Well, the USA, home of Apple, are certainly not anymore an emerging nation. And 8% Mac maket share worlwide, certainly does qualifiy as a "niche market share". Just and exactly the same as m43 is a niche within the global camera market.
