Shooting against overcast or bright sky pointers
1

So this painted bunting visits this tree every day (for the past two weeks). The sky has been bright or overcast. He doesn't show up in the morning or sunset. What pointers can y'all give to get better exposure? How can I make the bird sharp? He is perched high on a tree, it's hard to get close to him. He won't visit the bird feeders which would be nice, but since he is about 50-60 feet away, what settings would y'all recommend? I have a Nikon P1000 and a D800 with a Nikon 200-500 mm lens. Any pointers you send this way are greatly appreciated.
