At best Macs represent 15% of shipped PCs. 85% of the world works fine with Olympus...

Among photographers, the Macs seem to be more popular than PCs,

really ? based on what evidence ? 20 + years ago lots of 'designers' that i worked with worked exclusively with macs. now it's less than 50% of those that i work with...

It is sporadic to see a Windows computer in a photography workshop; almost everyone uses Macs. All professional photographers that I know of use Macs.

Among gamers, Windows is the king, no doubt about that. If you need high-performance computers (e.g., heavy photo stacking or other processing), a Windows computer is a better choice because there are more build options.

But for general photography, it is my impression that Mac is much more popular than its market share.

How about a poll :)?

Now that Apple has moved away from using Intel chips, it will probably become more popular as the power saving and performance bump will be welcomed by many.
