Accounts of a damaged camera from bad battery?
1

"Buying a third party battery could damage your camera". I've heard it plenty, but I've never actually read an account of it happening.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has incurred camera damage from using a third party battery in their DSLR or mirrorless camera.

Please refrain from replying with anything other than reports of actual damage to the camera. I'm well aware of third party batteries swelling, not holding charge, discharging too quickly etc, throwing errors, or not working after a firmware update etc.. I've experienced these things myself. I'd just like to know if there are any first hand accounts of a battery causing damage to a camera. Particularly circuitry damage ie. "frying a camera", or physical damage from a battery splitting/leaking/exploding?
