EF 24-70 f4L to RF 24-105 F4L - worth the change?

Hello all. I have a Canon RP camera and currently using a ef 24-70 f4L lens with adapter as my go-to-for-most-things lens. It generally does ok although a bit soft at the image edges. I am more a manual focuser than auto. I am looking towards taking photography to a pro level but obviously budget only allows one slow step at a time. I am wondering if it is worth selling this lens and moving to the RF 24-105 f4L? Will I be gaining enough image quality to warrant the spends? I don't as yet have a genre but portraiture is my next learning curve (I do have the EF 50mm f1.8 already, and newest sigma 105mm macro, both work very nicely). Thanks for any advice.
