Thank you, funny you mention that. Last week I took some photos of a bird across the street that was on the ground. It was a 100 degree day and all the photos I took were unusable from the heat waves. That was my first time using the 1DX with the 500mm x 1.4. Just to be sure that I didn’t need to do any micro adjustments for the AF I took random photos of things in my backyard today (77 degrees). The AF points are sharp. I only noticed that weird halo on a few of the photos. I’d never seen it before on my photos. The closest I got on a DP review and google search was bokeh fringe. I was just wondering what it was because it’s kind of distracting and could ruin an otherwise good photo in the future.
