Re: no-brainer to get the GM 14

How do you find the 12-24/4G vs the 12-24/2.8GM at competing apertures? I have been focused on selling equipment and saving money to buy the GM, but that is primarily for the boost in sharpness, not because I absolutely need the 2.8 aperture.

I only looked at the reviews and pictures here on Dpreview and I see a significant improvement from the F4 G to the F2.8GM. I don't have hands-on experience with the 12-24G.

The new GM version also brings linear focus motors for ultra fast and silent response.

My first impression is that the lens is much lighter than expected. My 24-70 GM feels kinda bulky and my fingers tend to get stuck between the grip of te a7s3 and the lensbarrel. The 12-24 GM has non of that.
