Although I don’t know how likely it would be to happen, to me the best thing would be is

- M series bodies take over from the rebel series in the sense they are more consumer and entry level friendly cameras.

- Canon adds some more EF-M lenses to fill out the lineup a bit on the wide and more tele end

- For the high end, Canon can release a R7 that’s more aimed at enthusiasts and those with deeper pockets

I personally love the M series cameras and would be really happy if Canon not only continues with this mount but releases some more lenses (15mm f/2 please!).

The biggest problem with the EF-M series is indeed the lack of native lenses to replace the rebel series. I feel like canon only wants to make small and lightweight EF-M lenses.

Well that's the whole point of the EOS M series.  A small 15mm f/2 might be possible, but it could be too expensive.  A 12 mm f/2 would be nice, if Canon could get the filter size down to 55mm (Samyang couldn't.  I have that Samyang lens, it doesn't need autofocus as scale pre-focussing is just as quick, but I use the 11-22mm lens a lot more because the flexibility of a zoom is so useful at ultra wide-angle).  Lots of people would like a 52mm f/1.8, I'd prefer a 62mm f/1.8 but a consistently good 15-65mm, a 135mm f/3.5 and a nice little 9mm wide-angle and a rectangular fisheye would just about complete what could be done within the size constraints that Canon seem to have set themselves.  The big question is, how many of these could they sell to people who want to buy £€$600 bodies?

I see however in the future them selling rebel like R camera's for around €/$600. You can put in a cheap EVF (like M50 series) of no EVF (like M6/100 series). The biggest question is, will they be crop frame camera's of will they stay full frame instead.

The cheap ones will be full frame as Canon can't afford to have a third range of APS-C lenses.  I can't see them being quite that cheap either. The RP already has a cheap viewfinder, Canon's cheapest FF sensor and the EOS M6 battery.
