Portable photography chairs.
Some OS us older folk whose body's need a little help now and then, often end up looking for suitable seats to rest on. Do I thought I would start a thread where everyone can share their seating experience.

Please bare in mind that the reviews below are based on my needs. FYI, I can only stand or sit upright for very short periods and bending forward is a no no. Prices quoted are mid ray, much cheaper and dearer can be purchased.

Gardening Kneeling Pad. (About £3)

Feather-weight, very well padded + useful carrying grip. Ideal for low garden macro.
I wouldn't want to carry one when out and about, but frequently use a similar smaller DIY version with a shoulder/neck strap attached.

Highlander folding Sit Mat. (About £3)

This will be my next purchase. I tried a friend's last week and although it has no strap, it fits inside my little camera bag and adds protection padding. (My bag doesn't have any).

Lightweight Trecking Chair. (About £30)

Ideal for astro or waiting for sunsets. First tried one last summer and was amazed how comfy and strong. It weighs less than 1kg and I am well over 16stone! Yet I can lay back, relax and rest my back. I always keep one in the car.

Walking Stick Stool. (About £28)

This works well on many fronts. It's high enough to make it easy if you need to keep standing up, such as for photographing a carnival procession, or at an aircraft display, etc.
Or frequently sit on it backwards (instructions say don't) and steady my camera using the handle.
If I don't need it as a walking stick, I have a DIY clip on shoulder strap attached.

3 Legged folding Stool. (About £7)

These can be really compact, inexpensive and lightweight. I have tried two. One was so light the material gave way under my weight! The other was taller, but unfortunately for my sitting requirements it did not suit my weak back.

Shooting Stick Seat. (About £28)

Unfortunately these do not work for me. Balancing on a single leg strains my dodgy spine.

I look forward to hearing from other forum members as to what seating works for them, why, and in what situations.
