I'm thinking about Nikon 85 f1.8 S in the future and I wonder if anyone here is actually using this lens . I'm currently using Tamron SP 85 f1.8 VC and it actually works much better on the Z6 than on the D750. I get a lot more keepers with the Z6 than with the D750 when I shoot wide open.

But a lot of reviewers say that the new 85 S is a sharpshooter and I want to hear your feedback on this lens.

Thank you.

The 85mm f1.8 S is my favorite Z mount lens (I own most of them) and is IMHO one of the very best portrait lens ever designed.

I clrealy prefer it over the Otus 85mm f1.4, Fuji G 110mm f2.0 or the Phasone Blue Ring 110mm f2.8 that I have used extensively also.

That is in absolute quality.

If you factor in price and bulk the Nikon is in a class of its own. Far far above anything else in the mirrorless world. This lens by itself is a major reason to adopt the Z mount.

it has also become my main stitching lens for landscape. Not much beats it’s image quality at f5.6. It’s up these with Rodenstock.

Good to hear about that! I just ordered one!!  I will be able to use it for my next shoot.
