Hmm ... I just looked up the 2000 formula - I think I'll stick with CIE Delta#76

Not a huge difference - meaning that the normalized L* levels are close enough.

Normalized by adjusting patch #22 (mid-gray) in SPP to be around 118/255. If that were not done, the DeltaE76 values would be much greater and of less value in considering just "color" which, to me, means hue and saturation (chroma).
