The internally battery is a standard Lithium type and user-replaceable. Here's a video demonstrating the procedure for the 7000, and I think the 5000 is the same:

I had an idea they were user replaceable , but couldn't remember how far in they were .

( So not necessarily a job for anyone ).

It's a shame the O.P can't be arsed replying to their own thread to let us know how they got on .

Maybe putting fresh AA's in refreshed it , but we'll never know ...
