For example in one of my frames a jogger ran left to right across the frame, yet is perfectly rendered in the composite.

The reason for this is what Panansonic call their "Mode 2" setting which is a motion compensation feature. I don't know how it works (I assume it is something like, where the camera detects movement, it pastes pixels only from a single frame in that area) but it definitely works.

In reviews of pixel shift you usually see some ghosting around moving edges or sometimes a strange overlapping multiple exposure repetition effect but I'm not seeing that in my shots. Swaying branches, fluttering leaves are all rendered correctly.  The pixel shift super resolution look. I shall call it the PXSSRL!

6.5 stops of IBIS and blisteringly fast burst modes, full weather sealing, and build quality far better than your average Panasonic.

I guess there is always more than one way to skin a cat. And it will tide me over for a year until I retire and can buy myself a MF present with my pay off

I'd be interested to find out how G9 "Mode2" PXSSRL! did on birds, wildlife.

100s is in my future. Meanwhile I'm also content to get the best out of tech from smaller formats.

Photography after all is interplay of light alongside perspective.
