Why doesn't Olympus or Panasonic make a square sensor for micro 4/3?

It seems to me this would be ideal and then you could pick the format in camera or choose the whole square.  Back in the film days I shot with a Rollieflex 6008 and square images are interesting.  Some people only shot square images.  Another thing to consider is that the image circle of a lens is round and a square format will use the most area and pixels of the sensor.  Micro 4/3 is like 13 x 17 mm.  They could make it 17 x 17mm.  That would increase sensor size from 221 to 289 square MM, an increase of approximately 31%.  It might make the camera slightly taller.  But I'm uncertain if micro4/3 lenses cover that area.
