I'm new to video and trying to wrap my head around field of view.

Since photo cameras are 3:2 sensor, how can I mathematically convert a lens' FOV to 16:9 for video? Would video just be cropped in more horizontally?

I'm assuming the lens' spec sheet shows 3:2 FOV. Is this measured diagonally or horizontally?

Depends on the company. But normally the angle is on the diagonal.

Do you really need the math? It'll just be a little narrower.

Thanks for the info, that page is just what I needed.
