I finally bought the s602!!!

Just nipped down to the Tate on my lunch break and already look to have a few great shots!

Bit dissappointed not to see an AC adapter in the box though!

Still, heres to happy shooting!

Cheers,

It's not a big deal. I've used mine twice in 1.4yrs, and besides they're cheap.
Still, heres to happy shooting!

You get everything with the £39 Fuji Axia AX10 (a really nice case, batteries, loads of software etc) but with the S2 you don't even get a lens and a card let alone a case , Yeah, I know that you never get a lens with a DSLR unless it's the 300D kit but you DO tend to get less with the higher end stuff - the 304 and 5000 come with a lens tube for filters etc, if you have the 602 or 7000, it's £27 extra :( ..

Anyway, on the bright side, you've bought a top level Digical capable of superb work - Enjoy

3 Pics from mine (only had it almost week), great carryabout for when I don't want to lug a DSLR about, all shot in 6Mp Fine, soft sharpening and post processed in Photoshop using a modified version of Simon Stanmore's "10D Finisher" and resized to 50% for Net viewing

Where can I find a modified version of this action?
Thanks

In my "other" directory - again, thanks to Simon for writing it to begin with :) .. Maybe a 602 owning action expert can tweak it even better :)

it's called 602-Finisher.zip

Could possibly post maybe one of these four images as it came out of the camera together with its post processed version ... both appropriately resized for net viewing ?

Very nice results you got there.

Happy Shooting !

I haven't kept the straight from the camera shots, just the 6Mp post processed versions, Sorry. If showing a 100% non-resized crop from the 6Mp version would help, then let me know and I'll put one up

Thanks for the kind words BTW :)

Adam:

I click on the link for 602-Finisher.zip and get nothing. As a new 602 owner and photoshop 7 (Mac) user, I'd love to get my hands on this, especially if it will help with "noisy" ISO 800 & 1600 images....

What can I do to get your action?

As Lert said, double click on it - I seem to remember you from the Oly forum, weren't you one of our C2100 "UZI" gang about 12 months ago?

Correct, AT. Not a huge, frequent contributor, but yes, an avid UZI user and eternally grateful for the knowledge gleened from that fine crowd. I recently had to send the UZI in for its second repair in 20 months (excessive use?) and decided to seek an upgrade and settled on the 602 when I found a superb deal. I was initially going to get an E-10 since I take a lot of sports photos, but I was afraid its max shutter speed was going to be a limitation.

Hey I'd still like to get this action, but when I double click on it I still get nothing. I'll try another browser - sometimes Apple's Safari has some quirks - and I'll post a follow-up to let you know if I still can't get it. Maybe you can e-mail it?

I had an E10 as you probably may know but was never happy with it outide the Studio (I bought it for Product photography and chose it over the 6900 of the time because it was far more suited to studio use)

Here is a crop comparison between the E10 and 602 - the E10 was @ ISO80 (never happy with the noise even that low) and the 602 : ISO160 (lowest), the E10 shots are well over a year old but I ran the camera in soft mode and sharpened much the same as the 602 now - the 602 shot was shot at 6Mp , sharpened with the action and then resized to E10 proportions then the crops were taken.. As you can see, the 602 out rezzes it, I kinda knew that the 6900 did also at the time but I needed a real SLR, cable release, infra remote, better build, PC Sync port, moving LCD and all the other stuff which made the E10 special... Now of course I have a 1D for work so the 602 makes a great pocketable carryabout

the 100% crop comparison

it I still get nothing. I'll try another browser - sometimes
