Previously, my Godox v860iis flash foot mount breaks due to over tighten and after googling, found out it is very common problem for this flash users.
After I got the original new replacement foot mount, I took out the broken one and attempt to create a stronger foot mount solutions.
This is what I've did.
Finished solutions
Finished solutions mounted on the flash
Parts in use. Only 2 additional parts that I sourced from other unused accessories. The original housing middle part I use hot soldering iron rod to burn it so it is big enough for the screw to go in.
This ring is little bigger, so have to trim down all four sides. This also make it stay in position and not turning around when the screw from another end. Take not the original housing is little curved. So have to trim accordingly. I use small knife to cut/trim out the plastice part.
Glue a piece of paper over the end just incase the steel part touches the flash circuit board and potential cause short circuit.
After the steel part of the mount touches the circuit board.
All parts taken off from the broken foot mount and no longer needed. But I will still keep them just incase some component can be useful in future.
Flash mounted on mini tripod. Standard screw.
Tilt it 90degree. Still hold it well.
This is what happened when it breaks to my previous foot mount. The flash no longer can hold firmly or not able to hold at all.
Now I don't have to worry the foot mount will break again and I can tilt it in whichever position I want. It should hold 😁
The only downside is must pair with wireless trigger. For my case of use, I am all good for that.
Hope this helps anyone who experienced same issue as mine and would like to find a solutions to it.
