I was eyeing that pack but never could find one to see in person, so never pulled the trigger on it. Instead, I use a Mountainsmith Tour lumbar pack, and put the camera w/ primary lens attached, and several other lenses, all in OP/TECH neoprene pouches. The Mountainsmith packs just seem to ride well on me, so I figured I would adapt what I already own. Note that Mountainsmith used to make a photo-specific lumbar pack, the Tanack 10L, but not if that is still available new. You might be able to find one on the used market.

I do the same with my ancient Mountainsmith Tour.

I had found the Tour on the Internet - but I've been unable to see either the Evoc or the Tour in the flesh. That's why real experience is so valuable to me.

A supplementary question, as this is how I envisage using a waist pack, are they comfortable to wear on the front?

A lot depends on what you have in the bag.  If I am carrying a big telephoto lens then the pack really can't conform to the curve of your body.
