Where do you keep your Mode Dial set and why?

Many decades ago, back in film days, I took a camera class and the instructor taught the class to use only Aperture Priority. He taught that depth of field had ultimate priority. I'm recalling that our class field trips were all either landscape or architecture oriented. I've just automatically used A on my cameras ever since. I was just thinking about my always using A on my RX10M4 as it sometimes doesn't have the shutter speed, Aperture, or ISO I should have used. I'm very curious what setting(s) you use and why.
