PL100-400mm for airborne, PL50-200mm for taxiing
1

I've rented the PL100-400mm a few times for airshows here in the UK. It's a marvellous lens, and can produce stunning results (as I detailed on my blog, if you fancy a read: https://amipal-photography.blogspot.com/2018/07/lessons-from-riat-2018.html).

One thing I will say is that I think the PL50-200mm, even with the 1.4TC, is too short for getting a good close shot of an aeroplane (assuming fast jet/prop-driven warbird). And I wouldn't recommend it with the 2.0TC, as quality suffers quite a bit.

I used a combination of the PL100-400mm and PL50-200mm at Duxford Flying Legends in 2019. The former was useful for flying aircraft, while the latter was great for getting taxiing planes or ones being worked on by ground crew: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmG6ixkc
