Where did the Wikipedia image come from? Wikipedia started in 2001. It seems out of place for an 1988 Application? Before Adobe, BarneyScan XP was what Photoshop was called.

Also, it's true that Wikipedia did not exist before 2001, but just because the Photoshop version is from 1988 does not mean that it cannot / could not be used after 1988.
