Shooting at a distance - question

I am shooting a canon 90 D and a 50mm lens.
when I focus and shoot at a distance of 30 feet or more - how much detail can I expect to be sharp?
for example, if I shoot a stand of trees at a distance how many individual leaves should I be able to see? I can see the trees sharp as a whole but how much detail should I expect to capture?

thanks for your help
