Missing a point about lightweight tripods ? And looking for a new one.

It's a sad day today, the head of my tripod broke while I was storing it away (luckily, no camera was hurt). It was a (not so) magnificent Meikai 4 section aluminum (and plastic) tripod that was given to me. However It was fitted to my use : mainly interviews of seated people with a MFT camera (height around 120cm is okay, shooting in offices).

It served its time, so I thought I was going to just buy some new tripod, maybe a lighter one as I use the weight and cumbersomeness as an excuse to not lug a tripod around when going for landscapes and nature.

But I can't seem to find a camera tripod under 1Kg while the Meikai was 513g only. Am I missing some point ?
