Markarian's Chain, and more

These are works in progress - I have more lights from other nights, but I can't get DSS to align them. I'm also collecting more light tonight - my sky is so bright that a 6-day old Moon doesn't make much difference.

Markarian's Chain, as most of you know, is a group of 8 galaxies in Leo, most of which are actually near each other and not just accidential overlaps. (There are about 50 galaxies in this view, most of which are smudges of just a few pixels.) This is 55 minutes of light, at 600 mm and f/6.3. I used my H-alpha modded D5600.

For me, this is one of the most thought-provoking sights in deep space.

Nearby is the triplet of bright galaxies, again taken with the D5600 at 600 mm. This is 30 minutes of light, and I have another 60 minutes when I can figure out what I'm doing wrong with DSS.

I was taking wide-field images of the galaxies in Leo, and noticed this pair of interacting galaxies that seemed brighter than most of the other smudges. Here is 35 minutes of light, at 800 mm f/6, with a Pentax K-1:
