Do monopods help?
1

Most of my photography is landscape and travel. I’ve carried and used a monopod for a few years. I don’t have any firm evidence that it helps with overall image quality and sharpness, and perhaps allows me to shoot a step slower, but I’ve always assumed that it does. The one case where I know it helps is gusty winds.

My current crop of camera bodies don’t have IBIS, and don’t really care to spend any more money at the moment. I do have pretty good optical lens stabilization.

Anyone have any proof or pointers to reviews or tests? What is your experience and thoughts on monopods?
